Bic!
Today we journied to Vic, but we must remember that 'V' is pronounced with a 'B' in this region so things can get a bit confusing; for example, the bank with the initials VVBA...... figure that one out. Anyway, off to Vic for a wander around another regional Medieval centre and while there are a couple of important churches, not to mention the Roman Temple, it is somewhat less interesting than other places we've been so far. The Temple has an interesting story as at some point in it's past a castle complex was built around the structure and there it sat, hidden away for hundreds of years, quite forgotten until the 1800's when it was rediscovered after the castle changed hands and parts were demolished.... so here it is today almost 2000 years later. Sometimes these buildings are a bit hard to fathom. After our visit to Vic we headed home again for another dinner amidst the olive grove. The owner of the property, who lives on-site, popped over with a traditional snack for us of toasted bread, rubbed with garlic and fresh tomato, topped with a paper thin slice of Serano Ham. Laurel and I remember this treat from our 2002 visit to Barcelona and we occasionally make it at home albeit usually with some other ham substitute; much better here for some reason. We were then introduced to 8-week-old-puppy-with-no-name and all in attendance were quite gaga over the wee ball of fluff, whimpering away when held, scampering about when not.... No, we aren't getting a puppy!
