Montserrat..... 8/04

Today we woke to a lovely cool morning and enjoyed coffee and croissants overlooking our view; roosters crowing in the distance, birds twittering amidst the olive branches.  We decided late morning to journey to the monastery complex at Montserrat.  The mountains remind one of a Dr. Seuss book and the view from the top is spectacular.  The cathedral is your typical opulent catholic edifice with wonderful stain glass windows and marble and art and gilt, and, and, and.....  Back later to Cal Ramonet for a meal of local sausages of mutton and of a salami style, firm aged rosemary goat cheese, Catalunya red wine, fresh bread and salads, finished with a lemon infused cheesecake flan all light and fluffy.....
